Always say yes to adventures

City of Heavenly Fire

City of Heavenly Fire - Cassandra Clare It feels strange that this is the last one. I feel like so much happened, but not much at all. I'm not coping.

I am really looking forward to The Dark Artifices and The Last Hours now. ***
Okay it has been a couple of weeks since I read COHF now and I think I am in a better "mental space" to ramble about it or whatever.

This series was the first one I discovered on my own, I found it after the "Twilight" period and couldn't believe there were actually stories out there that were better, substantially better than Twilight.

The Mortal Instruments is the series that got me through my teenage years, and while I will never, ever love it as much as The Infernal Devices, it still holds a hugely special place in my heart, because without it I never would have read The Infernal Devices.

Saying that, this book, this series even probably isn't a 5 star worthy one. The writing isn't amazing literature, the plot isn't amazingly new and original, but for me it is home. The characters are my friends and I LOVE the world.

So yes, I am exceptionally bias when it comes to Cassandra Clare and I will love her forever, love whatever she writes, and everything she writes in the shadowhunter world will get 5 stars, because for me, these books are home.

*pretty much a disclaimer*
*I like what I like*

City of Bones

City of Bones - Cassandra Clare Read it AGAIN. And I still love it, it's amazing how certain books make me WANT to keep reading :) and I love those books, so much (Cassandra Clare has done this for me with ALL her novels) that I search for those kinds of books to read no matter how bad it is for my health.
***

Really got to stop re-reading these books...
HAHA!
Yeah, movie is coming out next month, re-read the book. Not sure how I feel about the movie yet, but I'll let ya know.

The Unbound

The Unbound - Victoria Schwab Just as amazing, if not better than the first one. READ THIS SERIES NOW. Please.

Victoria Schwab is without a doubt a new favourite author.

The Well of Ascension

The Well of Ascension - Brandon Sanderson I feel like this is an appropriate time for a Bohemian Rhapsody solo.
"Is this the real life, is this just fantasy...." God I'm going insane.

The One

The One - Kiera Cass While nothing amazing happened plot wise, still a cutesy book that was easy to read.

Let's just ignore all the potential this book had with the rebels...

Okay? Okay.
Damn Fault in our Stars WHY YOU HAUNT MY LIFE.

More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops

More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops - Jen Campbell Working in a bookstore this book never fails to make me chuckle, a good hearty chuckle. Some people are just so....

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky This was by no means a bad book. Reading it just wasn't right for me at the time and was making me depressed.

The Archived

The Archived - Victoria Schwab I feel ashamed, I was overwhelmed by the inexplicable hype surrounding this book that I was actually afraid to pick it up and NOT like it.

Thank god I did.

This book was eerie at it's finest, and it's core of losing someone you love resonated with me far more than anything else I've read.

I loved it. I loved it so much.

Cress

Cress - Marissa Meyer Okay, I'm finally obsessed. I'll admit I didn't love Scarlet, but Cress was amazing. IT WAS AMAZING. I need more.

Scarlet

Scarlet - Marissa Meyer I enjoyed this one, just not as much as the first. I don't think I quite connected with the characters? I dunno. IT'S STILL ALL SO FUN. I love how everything intertwines, sah good.

Disruption

Disruption - Jessica Shirvington I am, and have been for quite a while a huge Jessica Shirvington fan- she is most definitely one of my all time favourite authors. In saying that, I didn't pick up this book right away, shamefully because I couldn't find a cover that wasn't slightly damaged in some way.

Let me say this now, it was well worth the wait if it means I don't have to wait as long for the next one.

Another amazing book, go read every last one of her books. I dare you. DO IT.

The Elite

The Elite - Kiera Cass 3.5 stars

This book was infuriating with the tossing and turning between the Aspen and Maxon. JUST PICK MAXON ALREADY.

The Selection

The Selection - Kiera Cass Every now and then I need a good old fashioned love triangle with pretty dresses and princes and princesses. This book definitely helped me get that fix.

In saying that, the only reason this book is four stars instead of five is that I feel like the 'America and Prince Maxon' love blossomed too soon. I was really loving their friendship and then all of a sudden she became a whiney needy love struck teenager who couldn't decide between two men. Argh.

I read this book in one sitting then started the next one straight away so these books are nothing if not entertaining.

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1)

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) - Marissa Meyer 4.5 stars, really can't wait to read the next one.

Attachments

Attachments - Rainbow Rowell I'm still smiling even though I didn't completely understand half of the references in this book- it's okay though, I googled them- I LOVED IT.

Dare You To

Dare You To - Katie McGarry Finally a book to help with my reading slump. Bring on the books April.
